Captions and Transcripts

Transcripts and Captions: What's the Difference?
  • A transcript is a text version of a video's speech content. Echo360 automatically transcripts videos using Automated Speech Recognition (ASR) technology. Automated transcripts often require editing to fix errors. Transcripts do not fully meet accessibility requirements, but they are an excellent first step. 
  • Closed captions cover speech but also sound effects and other non-speech elements. Once you have edited your automatically-generated transcript in Echo360, you can convert it into closed captions with just a click. This video shows you how:
