Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Central Asia is sometimes referred to as "The Stans" because of the way all of the country names end. These countries include: Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Central Asian countries were, at one time, part of the Soviet Union or Russian Bloc States.
