How Do I?

How Do I Get An Student ID / Library Card Or Community Card?

Walk-in ID card appointments are available from 9-3 Monday-Thursday in the Student Services Office (C2100). Students and employees will need to show a valid photo ID. The replacement fee for a lost ID card is $10.

In order to be eligible for a Community card, you must reside in the Kishwaukee College district #523.  You must be at least 17 years old and be able to show a current photo ID and proof of residency with your name on it in the form of a voter's registration card, utility bill, tax document, or a library card from a library within the district. Please visit us in Library & Tutoring Services in A1100 prior to having an ID made.

How Do I Check Out and Renew Library Items?

When you have found the library item(s) you need bring them to the Circulation desk and library staff will check out your item(s) using your Kish ID which is your library card. If you do not have your Kish ID handy your driver's license, State ID, or passport can be used one time only. Print items can be checked out for 4 weeks; media for 2 weeks.

You can access your library account to renew items, and review your account.
You can also sign in to your account with your myKish login from the Library SmartSearch page (upper right-hand corner).
You can renew items by calling the library 815-825-9330 or by email library@kish.edu

The library item(s) you have checked out can be easily returned anytime in the brown dropbox by the light post outside door 6 (by the Kish Store). You can also return items at the inside dropbox in front of Library & Tutoring Services, return them inside the library during open hours.
