What is a Research Guide?

  • course- or topic-specific online guide to Kishwaukee College Library sources
  • some are for specific courses, and others are for topics of more general interest (e.g., Graphic Novels)
  • built by Kish librarians on the popular "LibGuides" platform
  • a place for students to learn essential information skills!

How can a Research Guide help my students?

  • instructional videos show them how to use Library search tools
  • when used with sample research assignments students learn:
    • how to get started on a project by narrowing a topic and finding background information
    • how to think critically about information sources
    • the concept of peer review, and how to find scholarly articles
    • and more!
