The DTen is the predominant presentation technology on campus. Presenters may connect wirelessly via Zoom from their laptops or simply use the classroom's desktop. To present from their laptop they will have to either join the Zoom room associated with the classroom equipment or create a Zoom meeting with their own Zoom account and join it from the iPad controls in the classroom.

There are only a few Viewsonic interactive whiteboards on campus. This touchscreen high-definition monitor has whiteboard annotation capability, file sharing, polling, and an option for participants to “throw” files to the presenter using the Myviewboard mobile app.

The wall-mounted camera’s view can be adjusted from the iPad camera controls. The Camera Control tool A set of four arrows is used to move the camera’s view from right to left and up and down. The DTen camera is located in the center of the top of the screen and will display the classroom from the front allowing students in Zoom to see their classmates. The switch camera options displayed on the iPad at the instructor station include selecting either the DTen, wall-mounted camera, or using both. The option to use both works well for students attending class via Zoom, as they can view their classmates from the Dten camera and the instructor from the wall-mounted camera.
Audio cannot be transmitted from two nearby microphones without feedback and an echo occurring. If you opt to join with audio from the iPad at the instructor’s station, then do not join the meeting with audio from your laptop or the instructor’s desktop.
The iPad console at the instructor’s station is a convenient way to start a Zoom meeting. However, it will automatically generate a new meeting id each time you start meeting. This would necessitate the sharing of the new meeting ID for each class meeting. The best way to accomplish this would be to choose the option to invite the instructor after the meeting has started, and then choose the option to email the meeting link to yourself. Once the meeting link is received it can be posted to the course Brightspace for students to access and the instructor should then join the meeting from the instructor’s station but choose to not use the computer audio. Audio and video will be provided from DTen camera and microphone, and the camera mounted in the back of the classroom. The instructor must then give themselves cohost privileges to the meeting from the iPad. If they plan to share their screen
A more efficient option is to create a repeating Zoom meeting from the instructor’s Zoom account and post the link to the course Brightspace at the start of the semester. This eliminates the need to post the Zoom meeting information for each class meeting at the start of class each week, but not join the audio. The instructor would then log into the instructor station, start the Zoom meeting, and then join the meeting from the iPad at the instructor’s station. The iPad audio and video can then be unmuted so the students joining via Zoom will be able to see and hear the class session from the microphone and cameras mounted in the classroom and the DTEN.
Lighting, marker quality, and the reflective sheen of the whiteboard’s surface may make whiteboard annotation illegible to students who are attending class via Zoom. The DTen display has touchscreen annotation tools and is an excellent alternative to traditional whiteboard annotation. The DTen annotation may be added to a Zoom whiteboard or any Microsoft document. All these options may be used to save the annotation for posting to the course Brightspace.
To start annotating with the Dten annotation tools, simply touch the pen icon to display the annotation toolbar, select the color and the line style to be used, and start writing by touching the screen.
