AI Literacy and Ethics
Wed. February 5th, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.

This interactive session will explore AI literacy and the personal, societal, and professional implications of AI integration across the disciplines. This workshop will demonstrate how instructors can foster a culture of critical thinking and meaningful engagement with this watershed technology for their students. It will highlight the role of Critical AI Literacy in empowering students to navigate AI inclusively, ensuring that education in the AI era  is accessible and equitable for all.  This session was facilitated by Instructional Technologist, Mary Smith.

AI Sandbox

In this interactive workshop, see how some Kish professionals are using some popular A.I. tools in their work, and try the tools out yourself! Facilitated by Anne-Marie Green, Dean of Academic Support & Effectiveness.

Introduction to Ally

Ally is a tool designed to help tackle accessibility in a way that benefits all students by  Ally provides faculty providing them feedback and support to make content more inclusive and equitable. Join us for this introduction to Ally and its integration within D2L Brightspace. This session will be facilitated by Instructional Technologist Mary Smith. 

Introduction to Brightspace Resources and Templates

Learn how to create visually interesting and accessible pages of course content with Brightspace templates! We’ll explore the Brightspace Learning Center Resources and the many free activities, courses, templates, and content items that are available for their use. We’ll also explore the Learning Center Resources including many free courses that model innovative teaching strategies like branching scenarios, gamification, and escape rooms available for you to review and borrow from. 

Introduction to Padlet and Kahoot

Transform your lectures into interactive sessions that will engage students!  The Kahoot Higher Education license includes premium features like Word Cloud questions, dynamic quizzing, and the ability to create Kahoots from PDFs using AI. Join us for this interactive session and learn how to create a collaborative and engaging learning environment. 

Make Your Content Interactive with Echo 360

Join us for this webinar facilitated by our Echo360 Customer Success Manager, Mary Jane Pettola.  Session participants will learn how to seamlessly place questions within their videos to create a dynamic and engaging environment that encourages active learning. This session will guide participants through integrating Echo360’s interactive media features into their course materials, ensuring that students are not just watching but are actively engaging with the content. 

New Technology Options for Creating Class Introductions 

The ICTL has several new technologies available for creating start-of-the-semester introduction assignments and welcome messages. This session will be in the “petting zoo” format where participants can experiment with a variety of technology options. Session participants will be issued a Padlet faculty account and will have the opportunity to create a Padlet introduction assignment, receive a tour of the recording studio options within the Center, and an overview of the Echo 360 recording, streaming, and polling tools. Participants will also have the opportunity to create a video welcome message and an introduction assignment with the technology tools available in the ICTL recording studios. This will be especially helpful for online and hybrid courses.

Playing with Generative AI: Developing a Rich Relationship with Artificial Intelligence .

This workshop will demonstrate how instructors can effectively use AI to enhance their teaching practices. Participants will learn how to leverage AI tools to create engaging lessons, assignments, and content. By the end of the workshop, educators will be equipped with practical skills to integrate AI into their curriculum, making their teaching more efficient and impactful. This session will be facilitated by Instructional Technologist Mary Smith.  

Technology Tools for Class Interaction

This interactive session will introduce faculty to several options for making lectures interactive. Session participants will explore a variety of polling and gaming tools, including Mentimeter, Poll Everywhere, Plickers, Kahoots, Padlet, and Socrative.
